JEFFERSON COUNTY — Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 29-year-old Mt. Vernon woman in connection with a residential burglary investigation.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an address on George Street in Mt. Vernon on a report of a burglary, ultimately turning the report over to the Detective Division for further investigation.

Once detectives conducted interviews in the case, Amber Twiggs was arrested Tuesday for alleged residential burglary. She remains in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and setting of bail.
