CENTRALIA — John David Merritt, 68, of Centralia, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born April 7, 1947 son of John and Edith (Crockett) Merritt. He married Marsha (Peoples) Merritt on June 26, 1993 in the Centralia. She still survives in Centralia.
Survivors include his wife; daughter Bobbi Jo Goodin and husband Terry of Centralia; sons Robert Redman and wife Erica of Nashville, Rickey Redman and wife Brenda of Houston, Texas, Ben Rogers and wife Katie of Houston, Texas, Brad Rogers and wife Rikki of Marion, Wade Merritt of Vandenberg, Calif., AFB, Will Merritt and wife Jessica of Centralia; brother Tom Merritt of Indiana; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one grandchild on the way in November.
Mr. Merritt was preceded in death by his parents and a son Michael Merritt.
John loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. Specifically, he enjoyed spending time in the Pacific Northwest. He enjoyed cooking for his family, but above all else he treasured the time he spent with his wife and family.
Per John’s wishes, he will be cremated. Private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Murray Center Parents Association.
