FAYETTE COUNTY — A 24-year-old Mulberry Grove man, who allegedly led police in Christian County on a high-speed chase

on Monday night before abandoning his vehicle and escaping, has been arrested and is being held in the Fayette County Jail.

Donald R. VanHoose was arrested on charges of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude police, an outstanding Shelby County warrant and on an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant.

Reports also say 73-year-old Patsey L. VanHoose was arrested on a charge of aiding or harboring a fugitive, in relation to Donald VanHoose. She was released Thursday on her own recognizance.

According to the Taylorville News, at approximately 8:05 p.m. Monday, the Christian County Sheriff’s Department received information from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department regarding a vehicle traveling at over 100 miles per hour.

The report says the driver abandoned his vehicle and escaped on foot, with the search then focused on neighboring communities.
