Two in custody after Molotov cocktails lobbed at off duty officers cars

PERRY COUNTY — Two men are facing charges in Perry County, following a Wednesday incident in which police say remnants of Molotov cocktails were found at the homes of two off-duty police officers..

Reports say 19-year-old Samuel Dunson, of Du Quoin, and 19-year-old Freedom Davis, of Corning, Ark. face charges of attempted arson. Police say they could face more charges.

Police say they were called just before 5 a.m. Wednesday to a home on East Cole Street in Du Quoin, after an of duty officer heard a noise from the front his home and saw fire shooting from behind his squad car in his driveway. He was able to move the car away from the fire.

Following that incident, the police chief called all off duty officers to check on them, with one officer reporting the same thing happened to him. Both squad cars had minimal damage.
