CHRISTIAN COUNTY — A 26-year-old Vandalia man has been identified as the drowning victim found in Pana Lake on Tuesday night.

Christian County Coroner Amy Winans an autopsy conducted Thursday afternoon identified Duston W. Conway as the victim and showed drowning as his cause of death.

According to reports, the Pana Police Department received a call around 7:30 pm on Tuesday of a body floating in the lake. The body was recovered with the assistance of the Pana Fire Department and the Taylorville Fire Department Dive and Rescue Team.

Illinois State Police Zone 4 Investigations, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, Pana Police and the Christian County States Attorney and Coroner’s Offices are handling the investigation.
