CENTRALIA — Edith “Edie” Corrine Gansauer, 75, of Centralia, passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at her home. She was born July 18, 1940 the daughter of Clifford and Frances (Just) Cook in Sandoval. In 1970, she married Robert Gansauer in Sandoval and he survives in Centralia.
In addition to her husband, survivors include four daughters Michelle Gansauer and Charlie Pennington of Centralia, Pamela Eaker of Sandoval, Gayla Stubblefield of Centralia, and Francyne Bijlsma and husband Franke of Herrin; four brothers Clifford Cook of Sandoval; Sam Cook, wife Carol of Kentucky; Victor Cook, wife Mary of Sandoval; and Richard Boothman of South Carolina; grandchildren Zackery Hoffman, Preston Pennington, Jayce Pennington, Bryce Edwards, Bryan Christopher Powe, Jacob Sussen, Alysha Eaker, Dezirae Gregory, Sabine Henry, and Steven Bijlsma; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Clifford Cook and Frances Boothman; sisters Emma Lutz and Connie Uhls, brother Bill Cook; and grandson Chad Powe.
Edith was a former beautician. She was an avid golfer and bowler. More than anything she loved vacationing on the beach, especially Florida.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia. Entombment will follow at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Pastor Seth Baltzell officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday at Irvin Macz Funeral Home in Centralia.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Diabetes Association.
