Man hospitalized after West Frankfort stabbing

WEST FRANKFORT — Police in West Frankfort are investigating an alleged stabbing that took place Sunday night. Police Chief Shawn Talutto says just after 9, police got several 911 calls regarding a disturbance in the 2200 block of East Elm Street.

When officers arrived to the scene, they spoke to a woman who said that she had received several text messages of a threatening nature from another woman.

This woman, Talutto says, arrived at the reporting party’s home and a verbal argument began. During the argument, two men with weapons started to argue as well. It turned physical and an adult man, who had arrived at the home, was stabbed by juvenile male.

The man was taken to Herrin Hospital and later transported by ambulance to Barnes Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
