HOYLETON — It isn’t confirmed if a tornado or straight-line winds tore through part of Hoyleton late Sunday night, but according to reports, several buildings sustained damage, including an upholstery shop across from Kretzer’s being knocked down.
Route 177 was closed overnight due to live wires on the roadway. However, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Route 177 was back open Monday morning.
Emergency responders from Hoyleton Fire, Washington County Ambulance, Washington County Sheriff’s Department, Okawville Police Department, Nashville Police Department and the Illinois State Police have been on the scene.
Early reports say no one as being injured emergency crews are on scene and ask citizens to please avoid the area. They will seek the public’s help, once they have assessed the situation.
