JEFFERSON COUNTY — A logging accident Monday morning has claimed the life of a 20-year-old man, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Travis Allen, his department received at report just after 8 a.m. Monday of a tree falling on someone in Casner Township in rural Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies, Woodlawn Fire Protection District and Litton’s Ambulance personnel initially responded with Ashley Fire Protection District and Air Evac for mutual aid.

Quentin Levi Douglas Campbell, 20, of Bridgeport, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries apparently sustained in a logging incident.

Foul play is not suspected, but an investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is ongoing.
