SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Late Illinois Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka will be honored with a street that will be named after her at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.

Illinois State Fair spokeswoman Rebecca Clark says a ceremony is planned Tuesday to rename Corn Dog Lane as Judy Baar Topinka Lane. Topinka died Dec. 10 at age 70. The fair opens this week.
Gov. Bruce Rauner calls it a fitting tribute because Topinka was passionate about the state fair and “her spirit, spark and one-of-a-kind personality will be sorely missed this year.”
Topinka’s son, Joseph Baar Topinka, tells The (Springfield) State Journal-Register that he thinks the honor is “wonderful.”
