Dorothy Alice Thomas

CENTRALIA — Dorothy Alice Thomas, 92, of Centralia, formerly of Sandoval, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Centralia Manor.

picture-pubShe was born the daughter of Herman Emil Jr. and Lillie Mae (Barbee) Schmeider. She married Adolph “Budy” Thomas, Jr. on July 19, 1949 in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1995.

Survivors include a special niece Loretta Phillips, husband Larry of Centralia, special friend Ieleen Jasper of Centralia, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Hilda, Betty, Arlene, Naomi, Edna; and brothers Evan, Clarence, and Merle.

Mrs. Thomas worked at Hollywood Candy Factory from 1945-1949 and Holiday Motel in Centralia for seven years. She also sold Avon. She loved to dance and go to dances, as well as yard sales and picking blackberries. She was a member of the Friedens United Church of Christ.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Day Macz Funeral Home in Sandoval. Visitation will be from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Alan Mason officiating.
