JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 29-year-old Jefferson County man is in jail on charges stemming from a weekend house fire in Bluford.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, Jeremy Shepler was taken into custody on a charge of Arson.
Reports indicate that just after 11:30 Saturday, deputies responded to a suspicious house fire in Bluford.
The Jefferson County Detective Division, along with the Illinois State Fire Marshal were called to the scene, and after an investigation Shepler was arrested. Reports indicate the home belonged to a relative of Shepler.
He remains in the Jefferson County Jail, awaiting the formal filing of charges and setting of bail.
