FAYETTE COUNTY — A 25-year-old Vandalia man has been sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison today, after he pleaded guilty in Fayette County Court to felony meth possession.
Christopher A. Smith was arrested and charged in March with Class 3 felony possession of less than 5-grams of meth. He pleaded guilty to that charge today in court, in exchange for a 30-month prison sentence and credit for 118 days already served in the Fayette County Jail.
In addition to the prison sentence, Smith was ordered to pay $930 in fines and fees, with his $2,500 bond posted in July to be applied. He was refunded the difference.
