CENTRALIA — David Allen During, 38, of Centralia, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 15, 2015. He was born on February 8, 1977 in Flora.
Survivors include his parents Edna and John During of Centralia; sister Teresa Ann Roper During of Centralia; nephews Dylon Adam During and Seth Joseph Roper both of Centralia; fiance Tracey Rice of Centralia; aunts Susie Reed and husband Joe of Decatur, Hala Gillmore and husband Robert of Centralia, and Linda Groff and special friend Tony Gazda of Nashville; uncles Darrell Lynn Groff and wife Donna of Junction City and Lester Eugene Groff and wife Tammy of Sandoval; and several cousins, great-cousins, and a host of friends.
David was preceded in death by all of his grandparents.
David worked at Centralia Hardee’s for 20 plus years and Kaskaskia Workshop. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge on July 7, 2009. He competed in the Special Olympics for several years receiving many awards and medals, while also setting records.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Irvin Macz Funeral Homes in Centralia. Masonic services will be accorded at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral, by the Centralia Masonic Lodge.
A funeral service will start at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Allen officiating. Cremation rights will be accorded. Memorial contributions may be made to the family’s wishes.
