Semi driver killed in one-vehicle accident on I-70 entering Vandalia

FAYETTE COUNTY — A 66-year-old Oklahoma truck driver was killed Thursday morning when his semi-tractor jack-knifed on Interstate 70 just outside Vandalia.

Stanley Hamilton, of Antlers, Oklahoma, was exiting Interstate 70 at milepost 63 entering the city of Vandalia, when he crossed the yellow line and entered the left ditch. The vehicle jack-knifed and broke loose from the 2003 white Freightliner semi truck.

The truck continued to skid out of control and overturned. Hamilton transported to the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, where he was pronounced dead.
