SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Rauner administration says it has reached tentative or final agreements on new labor contracts with several Teamsters Union units representing about 4,600 workers.

The State Journal-Register reports the administration has reached agreements with Local 916, which represents 2,700 professional and technical workers at the Illinois Department of Transportation, and the negotiating committee representing about 1,100 highway maintenance workers. Both groups must still vote to ratify the agreements.

Local 916 officials couldn’t be reached for comment.

About 300 Teamsters members working in Cook County have already approved the deal, as have 200 master sergeants with the Illinois State Police

The agreements call for among other things a four-year wage freeze, continuation of a 40-hour work week before overtime is paid and a reduction in payouts for unused vacation days.

The administration is still in contract talks with AFSCME, which represents about 38,000 state workers.
