CLINTON COUNTY — A 31-year-old Beckemeyer man was charged in Clinton County Court Tuesday morning, with felony home

invasion and trespassing charges, following a Monday morning incident in the 500 block of Railroad in Beckemeyer.

Bail for Adam C. Knapp has been set at $50,000. He’s charged with Class X felony home invasion causing injury and two counts Class 4 felony criminal trespass to property while persons present.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department received a call from a resident early Monday morning, reporting that Knapp was pounding on the door of the home and trying to get inside.

Judge William Becker Tuesday informed Knapp of the charges against him and appointed a public defender to the case. If released on bond, Knapp is prohibited from any contact with the individuals who were at the Railroad home at the time of Monday’s alleged incident.

Knapp is next due in court September 16, on these and other charges.
