JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 50-year-old Princeton, Wis., man was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to 9-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections on a reduced charge of driving under the influence for the fifth time.

Steven R. Isberner was arrested in August 2014 and was initially charged in court with Class X felony aggravated driving under the influence for the sixth or subsequent time. The charge was reduced in March to a Class 1 felony aggravated 5th DUI, for which Judge Eric Dirnbeck found Isberner guilty in a May bench trial.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Isberner in the early morning hours of August 12, 2014, on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, improper lane usage, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation or alcohol.

Steven Isberner, 49, Princeton, Wis., was arrested at 1:03 a.m. Saturday on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, improper lane usage, possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation/carry alcohol. All other charges against him were dismissed.
