Coroner Troy Cannon reports the first death his office responded to was on Sunday, when the body of 56-year-old Cynthia D. Fields, of Wamac, was found in her.

Cannon says her death was the result of an apparent suicide. She was pronounced deceased at 4:30pm., Sunday. No foul play is suspected in her death. Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia is in charge of arrangements for Fields.

The second investigation involves the death of a 34-year-old Johnny Ray Hedger, of Centralia.

An autopsy conducted on Hedger Tuesday revealed no immediately obvious cause of death; therefore, toxicology and microscopic studies will be completed in order to make that determination. Foul play is not suspected.

Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is assisting Hedger’s family with arrangements. His body was discovered Monday evening in an apartment on Sycamore Street in Centralia.
