MARION COUNTY — Marion County Crime Stoppers is offering a $4,500 and growing reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of 24-year-old Dustin Rhynes.

Dustin was discovered deceased in a neighborhood alleyway in Centralia’s northeast side. Coroner’s reports indicate he died several hours prior to the discovery of his body due to injuries from a gunshot wound.

A man who was reportedly with Dustin at the time of the shooting was also shot, but managed to run from the scene and seek help at Fireside Nursing Home where employees called for an ambulance that took him to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

That man, Charles Collins, is currently on the run from the law for a separate shooting days later, in which he is believed to have been the shooter.
