Detectives are hoping someone will recognize the child based on the drawing and help police identify him or her.

The child’s remains were discovered over the weekend in the Garfield Park lagoon after someone reported seeing a foot floating in the water.

With help from the medical examiner, police have so far only been able to offer a vague description, saying the child appears to have been African-American and roughly 2 to 3 years of age.

Authorities are draining the lagoon to aid the search for more evidence.

Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Thursday there are no reports of any missing children in Chicago that match this case.
