MARION COUNTY — A 33-year-old Central City woman is free on $1,000 bond, after being formally charged Friday in Marion County Court with felony aggravated battery to an elderly disabled woman in her care.

Amy Heimann was charged in Marion County Court Friday with aggravated battery to a senior citizen, for allegedly using pillows to cover the face of a 95-year-old disabled patient at Fireside House in Centralia. The patient was not injured. Heiman was working as a Certified Nurse Assistant at the time.

According to Centralia Police, Heimann told a co-worker about the incident, saying she had covered the woman’s face because she would not be quiet.

That co-worker ultimately reported the incident to the administration who started an internal investigation and called police.

Heimann posted bond Saturday and was released from the Marion County Jail. The conditions of Heimann’s release include not being employed as a caretaker. She is next scheduled in court September 29, for a first appearance with court appointed counsel.
