Centralia mom pleads guilty to child abduction

MARION COUNTY — A 29-year-old Centralia woman was sentenced today in Marion County Court to 27 days in jail with credit for time served for abducting her 4-year-old son and taking him out of state.

Rhonda Brittain was arrested earlier this month in Oklahoma. A warrant had been issued for her arrest after she violated a court order by taking her son out of state.

Brittain waived extradition and was returned to the Marion County Jail. The boy was returned to his custodial father who lives in Odin.

In addition to the jail time, Brittain was sentenced to 30 months probation, ordered to complete a mental health evaluation and treatment, along with a drug and alcohol evaluation and treatment. She will not be allowed any unsupervised contact with an older child.
