Hudspeth says after being asked to consider running for the office by members of the public, Hudspeth decided the time was right.

“When people come to you and ask you to run, putting their trust in you, you have to give it serious consideration. This is not something I decided at the last minute. I put a lot of thought into running for office and received encouragement from a lot of great people whose opinions I respect.”

Hudspeth is an attorney at Hunter Law Firm, P.C. in downtown Salem. He’s the second candidate seeking the GOP nomination for that office. He will face fellow Salem attorney Bill Milner in the Primary Election.

Hudspeth has experience representing local towns on all aspects of day-to-day governance as well as prosecuting ordinance violations, both of which have helped prepare him for serving as Marion County’s next state’s attorney.

He also serves on the board of directors of the Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce where he is the past-president, is the vice-president of the Salem Community Activities Center board of directors, and is a member of the Salem Tourism Board.

He and his wife Jessica are in the process of becoming the proud adoptive parents to a newborn baby and belong to St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem where Hudspeth is active with the Knights of Columbus and Pastoral Council.
