Bail set at $50k for second suspect in Salem garage burglary

MARION COUNTY — A 40-year-old Iuka man is the second person arrested in connection with a Salem garage burglary last month that was interrupted last month by the home’s owner.

Bail was set at $50,000 for Christopher Craig Thursday, when he was formally charged in Marion County with Class 1 felony residential burglary.

Salem police arrested Craig Wednesday, in connection with a burglary last month to the garage of a home on West Allmon Street.

The home owner surprised one of the people involved in the burglary when she opened her garage door and saw them inside. The suspect ran on foot.

Police first arrested 27-year-old Charissa Plumb, of Salem, in connection with the burglary. She has also been charged with Class 1 felony residential burglary. She remains in the Marion County Jail with bail set at $50,000.

According to police reports, the people responsible for the burglary to the garage ran from the scene when the home owner interrupted them, but they had already removed tools from the building.

Police say the subjects returned later in the day looking to retrieve a bag of tools that had been left by a neighbor’s house, but the owner had already located the tools.
