MOUNT VERNON — Local police are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed the Circle K gas station in Mt. Vernon Sunday at gunpoint.

According to the Mt. Vernon Police Department, they responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to a report of an armed robbery at the Circle K Gas Station located at 2701 Broadway in Mt Vernon.

The offender is described as a white male carrying a dark backpack, and wearing a light blue stocking hat with eye holes cut out, black coat, fingerless gloves, blue jeans with bleach or wear marks on them, grey tennis shoes, and he displayed a black semi-automatic pistol.
