U.S 50 in Clinton County to face lane closures during upcoming construction

CLINTON COUNTY — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that starting Friday, October 16, road construction will begin on U.S. Highway 50 to patch areas between Breese and Carlyle where the pavement is falling.

This will require U.S. 50 to be reduced from two lanes to one lane at times through October 23.

The Department asks motorists to look for Road Construction Ahead signs, reduce their speed, watch for slow moving or stopped traffic, and use additional caution when traveling near and throughout this work zone. Motorists will be directed by flaggers while the contractor is working.
