MARION COUNTY — A 25-year-old Centralia man has been charged in Marion County Court with felony criminal trespass to a residence, after allegedly entered the home of a woman on South Maple Street without permission.

Gregory Pocrnich was formally charged in court this morning with Class 4 felony criminal trespass to a residence while a person was present, as well as misdemeanor charges of domestic battery making physical contact, and misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

The woman told police she first heard Pocrnich knocking on a window and trying to open the back door of her home, ultimately threatening to shoot up the house.

Pocrnich reportedly gained entry while the woman was on the phone calling police. Police say was still in another area of the house when police officers arrived on the scene. They were able to take him into custody without incident.

Pocrnich claimed the woman told him to go to her house following an earlier incident at Arizona Joe’s where he had been knocked out when being hit in the head by an object.

Pocrnich was treated for a laceration to his head before being taken the Marion County Jail, with bail set at $25,000.
