MARION COUNTY — A 59-year-old Centralia man has been formally charged in Marion County Court with misdemeanor resisting a peace officer, following an alleged incident Sunday during which police say he was Tazed.

Police report Ricardo Roberson was arrested Sunday after allegedly refusing to stop begging for money from people on the street in Centralia.

After first asking him to stop asking people for money, officers continued watching Roberson continue to approach people and asking them for money, with one woman saying she gave him money because she was scared of him.

After walking away when being told to stand next to a squad car, Roberson allegedly spun around in a fighting stance and refused to place his hands behind his back when police decided to take him into custody. Police then tazed Roberson, but say it had no impact. At that point, Roberson was taken to the ground and handcuffed.

He remains in the Marion County Jail with bail set at $2,500.
