JUSTIN BIEBER SAYS TOO MANY PEOPLE WERE CALLING HIM ‘AWESOME’

Justin Bieber has admitted that in the past, he had too many people in his corner telling him that he’s “awesome.” During a recent radio interview, the singer said, “I would have just said to listen to the people who care about you the most, because I’m the type of person that needs to learn the hard way. I had a bunch of blind spots, I just didn’t see them. I had a lot of people telling me I was awesome all the time, and you start believing it after a while. You can’t really blame me. I’m a kid and if you start telling a kid you’re amazing and you’re this and that all the time… It just went to my head.”

He continued, “But I think now, just having the friends that I have, and having the community that I have to support me and encourage me, it’s just been a cool ride. I feel like I lost my purpose for a minute. I feel like I’m slowly gaining my purpose back and figuring out who I am. There’s so much darkness and I have this opportunity to just spread this light and this hope. I just feel that there’s no better time than right now.”

Bieber was later asked about getting over jet lag and he replied, “I’m exhausted. I’ve been working hard, but it’s what we have to do. My spirit is not tired. I am physically, but my spirit isn’t tired. You just have to know how to handle this industry. There’s no template for you to really figure it out, so you just have to make mistakes and find out who you are. It’s hard in this industry.”

  • He added, “This year has definitely been one of the best years of my life, for sure. I’ve just been able to put out the music that I want to put out, be creative, and I feel like I’m orchestrating it all. Because before, I was really young and a lot of other people had their hands in it. It feels good.”
