Justin Bieber is comparing his music transformation to Justin Timberlake’s. Bieber’s new live performances and recent music video’s is helping the 21 yr old singer mount an epic comeback. New singles like “What Do You Mean” and “Sorry” is launching Bieber to the top of the charts, but is also helping bring in new fans who have A new found appreciation for the singer.
According to Bieber, the shift in his popularity was bound to happen. During an interview with BBC Radio 1, host Nick Grimshaw, pointed out to the singer that his single “What Do You Mean” is starting to change people’s opinion of him. Bieber agreed, crediting his new appeal to the fact that he’s in more control of the creative process. He compare’s his transition to Justin Timberlake’s solo career.
“Look at Justin Timberlake. You know, he was in N’ Sync and of course they had an amazing sound but it was also, it was young. It was for teenagers”. Bieber said. “And i feel when he transformed and started making `Sexy Back` and stuff, he really found something that was unique to what he was feeling and what he wanted to do. So i think it takes time as an artist to develop your style and develop what you like and what you don’t like”.
Bieber has said that Timberlake is sort of a musical role model. Back in 2012, he told MTV News that he’s long admired Timberlake, even if the comparisons aren’t quite spot on. Bieber commented on his new album ” You know, I named the album Purpose. And the reason why i named it Purpose was because for a while I feel like I lost my purpose”. Bieber said. “And I feel like I found my purpose again. So just maybe that message to say, no matter how far you feel like you’re away from yourself or feel like you don’t have your purpose or you don’t know what your purpose is or feel like you’ve lost your purpose, there’s always room to find your purpose again”.
