CARBONDALE — An arrest has been made in connection with an early Thursday morning house fire in Jackson County. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says 28-year-old Pablo Rafael Garcia of Carbondale was charged with burglary and arson and is lodged in the Jackson County Jail.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Ronald Stanton says the fire happened at 3:36 a.m. Thursday at a vacant home located at 1500 Charles Road near Carbondale.

The Carbondale Township Fire Department along with Carbondale Police and the sheriff’s office responded to the scene. Deputy Stanton says circumstances and evidence at the scene led investigators to believe the origin of the fire was suspicious.

Investigators learned more about the fire Thursday night that led to a possible suspect, which was Garcia. Further information lead to Garcia’s arrest and charges filed against him.
