Bennie E. Westbrook Jr.

CENTRALIA — Bennie E. Westbrook Jr., 51, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

He was born the son of Bennie E. Westbrook Sr. and Rosemary (Sheckels) Westbrook on November 27, 1963, in Chicago.
Survivors include his mother Rosemary Sheckels of Chicago; sons Kevin A. McGhee and Terrell Thomas; daughters Shaquina B. Westbrook,  and Lakia B. Westbrook; granddaughter Fleanice M. Flowers;  siblings Dennis Westbrook and spouse Gloria of Carson, California, Elder Quinton Westbrook Sr., and spouse Debra of Centralia, O. Montre Westbrook and spouse Michael McCollum of Chicago, Adrian Bryant of Centralia, Victoria Westbrook-Compere and spouse Louides of Lauderhill, Fla., Tracy K. Westbrook of Victoria, Texas, Raynah Wilson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kathy Westbrook-Erffmeyer and spouse Joe of Park Forrest Ill.,  Jennifer W. Westbrook-Krusza and spouse Kevin of Park Forrest, and Allyson Wilson Smith of Chicago.

Mr. Westbrook was preceded in death by his father; sisters Shari Sheckels, Rita Westbrook, and Lesia Westbrook; and brother Roger Westbrook.

Mr. Westbrook worked for the Post Office, Sears, and managed Jeffrey Finer Foods grocery store in Chicago. He worked at Glister Mary Lee here in Centralia. He loved his cat Miss Meow Meow and his 1972 Ninety Eight Oldsmobile. He enjoyed playing video games on Play Station. He also had a green thumb and loved to grow plants and flowers.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2015  and celebration of life services will begin at 12:00 p.m. at The New Bethel Baptist Church.  Rev. Ronald Johnson is the Pastor, Bishop Henry L. Dabney will officiate.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rosemary Sheckels and she will forward them to the COPD Foundation.
