CENTRALIA — Peggy Sue Barr, 57, of Centralia, died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her home.
She was born July 16, 1958 in Quincy. the daughter of Gordon and Patricia (White) Moore. She married Craig Thompson and he preceded her in 2003. Then she married Michael Barr August 15, 2009, at Fouts Church. He survives her in Centralia.
Survivors include her husband; mother Patricia White of Clayton, Ill.; son Shannon Thompson and wife Deanna of Morton, Ill.; daughter Brandy Ilbery and husband Timothy of Mt. Vernon; step-daughter Michelle VanDeveer and husband Tracy of Centralia; grandchildren Chloe and Gavin Thompson, Blake VanDeveer and wife Megan, Tyler VanDeveer, and Jordan Madox and husband Philip; great-grandchildren Piper and Makenna VanDeveer; brothers Troy Jones of Maquon, Ill and Steven Jones of Middlegrove.
Mrs. Barr was preceded in death by her father and first husband Craig Thompson.
She always had a smile on her face and contagious laugh. A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, and then forever in our memory. She enjoyed writing recipes. She loved going to flea markets. She enjoyed going Spoon River Drive in the fall.
Per Peggy’s wishes, she will be cremated and services will be held at later date. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
