MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $50,000 for a 51-year-old Centralia man formally charged this morning in Marion County Court with felony burglary.

Berk Cunningham was arrested Wednesday night by Central City Police, for an alleged incident November 11 at a home in the 200 block of South Commercial in Central City.

According to reports, Cunningham took items from an ex-girlfriend’s home. She subsequently took out an order of protection against him, but because Cunningham is reportedly homeless, police were unable to serve him with that order until he returned to the ex-girlfriend’s home Wednesday night.

He was formally charged this morning with Class 2 felony burglary for the alleged incident and bail was set at $50,000, with special conditions of release that he have no contact with the alleged victim or her residence.

Cunningham was appointed a public defender and was scheduled for a November 24 court appearance with counsel.
