CENTRALIA — Centralia police responded around 8:30 Thursday night to a panic alarm at the Fuel Vend Express gas station and convenience store on North Poplar Street.

Police confirm they are investigating an armed robbery at this time in response to that panic alarm.

They report a light-skinned black male entered the store, displayed a firearm and demanded money. Employees complied, giving the gunman an unspecified amount of money and the gunman fled on foot from the store, heading north in the alley behind the store.

We will update this page as more information becomes available.

A heavy police presence could be seen at Fuel Vend Express and in the surrounding area shortly after the reported incident.
