MARION COUNTY — Two Marion County men were sentenced today in Marion County Court to one-year each in the Illinois Department of Corrections, after they each pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked.
Robert Krein, 37, of Odin, originally charged with misdemeanor resisting a peace officer and Class 4 felonies for aggravated DUI while license suspended or revoked and driving and driving a second time while license suspended or revoked due to a DUI.
Krein entered into an agreement with the state in which he pleaded guilty to the driving revoked charge in exchange for the other two charges being dismissed.
A separate charge of DUI, as well as traffic citations for driving on a revoked license, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident were also dismissed.
Also sentenced, was 39-year-old Benjamin Landes, of Centralia. Landes pleaded guilty to a 2015 charge of felony driving for the third time while license revoked due to a DUI, and to violating probation on a 2014 conviction for driving for the second time while license revoked due to a DUI.
Landes was sentenced to one-year in prison on each charge to be served concurrently. Both men will also have to serve one-year each mandatory supervised release after they complete their prison terms.
