ST. CHARLES, Ill. (AP) — The owner of a now-defunct northern Illinois petting zoo has been sentenced to probation and jail time after pleading guilty to animal cruelty.

Under the plea deal, other charges against 36-year-old Stacy Fiebelkorn were dismissed.

She was charged in 2014 after nearly 100 animals at her Mini Zoo Crew organization were found sick and starving. About a dozen dead animals were found on farms in Hampshire and near Maple Park.

She was sentenced on Friday to two years of probation and 90 days in jail. She must also pay fines and undergo a psychological evaluation.

Fiebelkorn declined to comment after the hearing.

Her collection of animals included chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, goats, horses, ponies, donkeys, alpacas and llamas.
