Coroner Troy Cannon says Erica Bieber died when she reportedly fell or jumped from a moving vehicle driven by 25-year-old Ethan E. Daniels who was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies for alleged driving under the influence. He has since posted bond and been released.

The vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 51 when the incident occurred. First responders were called to the scene around 1 a.m., and Bieber was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is being scheduled for Monday to determine the exact cause of death in this case.

The Coroner’s office is being assisted in the investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit.
