CENTRALIA — A late-night Thursday traffic stop in Centralia resulted in the arrests of two people on multiple charges including child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance, after police recovered a large amount of crack cocaine.

According to Centralia police, the driver of the car, 20-year-old Marquita A. Reynolds, of Centralia, was stopped just before 11:30 Thursday night on East McCord Street. Reynolds was arrested for alleged manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance after police allegedly recovered approximately 29 grams of crack cocaine.

Reynolds was additionally arrested for alleged theft by deception, obstruction of justice and filing a false police report. She was taken to the Marion County Jail, where she remains.

Her passenger, 29-year-old Deandre Owens, of Centralia, was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of justice and police, and endangering the life of a child.

Owens reportedly used a child in the car as a shield between him and police. He was also taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remains.
