On Monday the grand jury met in Washington County, and after being presented the case and deliberating an indictment was handed down charging Keith R. Addison with two counts Class 2 felony arson with damages exceeding $150,000.

According to Washington County Sheriff’s Detective Tommy Moss, the charges against Addison are the result of an investigation into the fire that destroyed Traveler’s Restaurant near Du Bois on February 9th, 2015.

Upon the grand jury’s finding, a warrant was issued for Addison’s arrest. He was taken into custody and was arraigned in Washington County Court Monday.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on $50,000 recognizance bond. The recognizance bond was ordered due to a cash bond already posted for Addison in an earlier felony case in which he is charged with two counts Class 2 felony burglary and Class 3 felony theft to the restaurant.

A Class 2 felony is punishable by between 3 and 7 years in prison, while a Class 3 felony is punishable by between 2 and 5 years.

Addison is next due in court January 19, 2016, for a pre-trial hearing on both cases.
