WILLIAMSON COUNTY — The Williamson County Board and state’s attorney are planning to sue the Illinois Department of Revenue and the comptroller’s office for funds that haven’t been released since the state’s budget stalemate in July.

A complaint and proposed order has been drafted in the amount of $139,000 for the salary reimbursements of the state’s attorney, the lead public defender and the supervisor of assessments, according to a report by KFVS-TV.

The report says the board has been following a similar law suit in which St. Clair County sued the state and won. St. Clair County has since received funds for those offices from the state.
