FRANKLIN COUNTY — A 54-year-old Royalton man arrested recently for aggravated criminal sexual abuse is now facing more charges in Franklin County.

Jon Brookmyer pleaded not guilt Wednesday in Franklin County Court to the charges against him.

However, the Franklin County State’s Attorney’s office filed additional and amended charges against Brookmyer for aggravated criminal sexual abuse, indecent solicitation of a child and grooming.

Officials say that in early November, Brookmyer allegedly committed a sexual act with a female minor over 13 but under 17 years of age. They say he used Facebook to solicit and entice the girl and engaged in sexual conversations with her through the social media site.

Brookmyer is set to appear again in Franklin County Court for a pre-trial conference on Jan. 27. A jury trial is currently slated for March 8.
