EAST ST. LOUIS — Michael J. Khoury, 43, of Cahokia, was sentenced Monday in the United States District Court to 188 months in federal prison, to be followed by 5 years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a felon.

Khoury pleaded guilty to the charge on May 12, 2015. Evidence showed that Khoury and another individual broke into Rural King, located at 2801 North Illinois in Swansea, and stole over fifteen firearms.

Khoury later sold one of the stolen firearms to a confidential informant, who provided that weapon to law enforcement. The serial number of that firearm matched the serial number of one of the firearms taken in the burglary.

Khoury is a convicted felon.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Swansea Police Department. The case is assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Laura Reppert.
