JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is reporting they’re receiving complaints from people saying

they’re receiving calls from someone them saying they owe money on a loan they had borrowed in the past.

They were given a Pennsylvania number to call, but the local police department’s office number came up on their caller ID and the impostor said he was Dispatcher David with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s department emphasizes they will not call you for any collection agency and asks people to beware of SCAM calls, as the culprits are becoming very cleaver. If you are concerned about any call you may receive, you are encouraged to contact your local law enforcement agency.
