According to Christian County Coroner Amy Winans,  the victims were a 46-year-old female and 49-year-old male, both from Edinburg, Illinois.

The bodies were located shortly before 10 a.m. Family members had reported the two missing, and authorities were able to locate them using location services on their cell phones. The white van in which they were reportedly traveling, however, has not yet been found.

With the large amount of water, deputies on foot discovered the bodies near 1299 E 2200 North Road in Buckhart Township, in rural Christian County.

The investigation is ongoing and being handled by the Christian County Sheriff Office.
