The Lake County Sheriff’s Office says a grand jury on Wednesday indicted 51-year-old Melodie Gliniewicz on felony counts of money laundering and disbursing charitable funds without authority for personal benefit.

A Lake County Judge issued an arrest warrant for Gliniewicz and set bond at $50,000.00.

Her attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail and email seeking comment.

Her husband, Lt. Charles Joseph Gliniewicz, died Sept. 1. Authorities say he staged his suicide to look like a homicide because he feared discovery of the decades of embezzlement from the Fox Lake Police Explorer Post.

Authorities say Melodie Gliniewicz served as an adviser to the Explorer Post.
