CENTRALIA — According to the City of Centralia, a $5-million dollar hotel is in the final stages before locating here in Centralia.

Mayor Tom Ashby announced at Monday’s City Council meeting that a Best Western Plus hotel will have 60 to 70 rooms and is planned to be built on Jolliff Bridge Road at McCord — across from the new Walmart Super Center.

Ashby says the nearly 7 acre site will be large enough for a strip mall as well and restaurant. The hotel brand, he says, will include suites along with its King and Queen room, and will offer a breakfast area, fitness center and indoor pool, guest laundry, business center and board room.

Before the project becomes a reality, the land in question must still be added to the Enterprise Zone. A public hearing will be held on the request before the next city council meeting on February 22.
