MARION COUNTY — Bail has been set at $150,000 for a 36-year-old man arrested Thursday night on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop.

Brooks Sides, who was initially booked as Brooks Joseph, was arrested for alleged possession of cannabis, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of between 15 and 100 grams of meth, and driving while under the influence.

Sidesm known to be from Cape Girardeau, Mo., but reporting he is homeless in Centralia, was was initially arrested on an outstanding Missouri warrant, which led to a search of Sides and his vehicle.

The search of Sides reportedly revealed a pair of brass knuckles, and five small baggies of a leafy green substance. $1,880 in cash was found in his wallet and was seized as part of the investigation.

The search of the vehicle reportedly revealed a cellphone box in the center console of the car containing two plastic baggies with what was weighed out to be 99 grams of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine. A bottle containing multiple narcotic pills was reportedly discovered in the glove box.
