MOUNT VERNON — A 21-year-old Mt. Vernon man is in the Jefferson County Jail, after Mt. Vernon police officers arrested him late Monday night on multiple charges including weapons offenses.
Damondrae James was arrested for alleged criminal trespass to state supported property, resisting arrest, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a stolen firearm.
According to reports, just before midnight, officers from the Mt Vernon Police Department were on foot in the north housing projects in the 700 block of Conger, when they attempted to make contact with James who was a pedestrian.
